Sydney Van Bakel is a graduate of the Architectural Conservation and Sustainability Engineering Program at Carleton University and joined the Building Science Department at Cleland Jardine Engineering Ltd. in 2021.

Sydney has worked on a variety of building envelope restoration projects, providing design, contract administration and field review services. In addition, she regularly participated in visual investigations and destructive testing within cladding systems to diagnose building envelope problems across the commercial, institutional, and residential sectors.
